Hello from Brussels!

I can’t believe it is June already, and mid-June at that. 2022 has proven to be a busy year here at the IAPP in Europe. A lot has happened already, and there’s more to come, so let’s quickly recap and look ahead.

We started 2022 off at a brisk pace with back-to-back events in March, with the IAPP Data Protection Intensive: France and DPI: U.K. Two busy but amazing weeks. Last week we were excited to hold our inaugural DPI: Nederland in The Hague with almost 400 delegates. It’s been very nice seeing IAPPers back in action at conferences.

Next on the events calendar is the IAPP Data Protection Intensive: Deutschland, with parallel tracks in German and English. We have great sessions waiting for you in Munich; we hope to see you there 11 to 12 Oct. Early bird pricing ends on 1 July, register now and save.

But that’s not all! The IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress 2022, Europe’s largest data protection conference, opened this week for registration. We have a great lineup of speakers and some exciting new networking opportunities for you. Register now and reserve your space before it sells out — and it will sell out. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in Brussels in just a few months.

There are more than just conferences happening across the region, of course!

Our engagement team has been hard at work with our KnowledgeNet Chairs to organize more than 100 KnowledgeNet meetings with more than 8,100 registrants in Europe alone. These local events have covered everything from cross-border data transfers, artificial intelligence, enforcement actions, policy roundups and more. Don’t forget that KnowledgeNets are free for IAPP members, so make you sign up to receive the invitations! They’re also a great way to earn CPEs if you’re IAPP certified and a great way to connect with local data protection professionals.

Do you need help signing up for KnowledgeNets or not receiving the emails you have signed up for? Please contact us; we’ll be happy to sort it out for you!

But wait, there’s more!

Did you know we have landing pages in French and German? These recently updated pages are accessible by hovering over the globe on the top left of the website and choosing the language you wish. There you can find information about training and certification in French and German, news, KnowledgeNet information and more.

It’s been great having our conferences, more in-person KnowledgeNets and resources produced this year — with more to come. Keep an eye out on the IAPP pages and newsletters to make sure you don’t miss any new announcements.

Warm regards,

Scott
