A whistleblower is accusing energy company Alinta Energy of a data breach involving more than 1 million Australian customers, ABC Radio National reports. Labor Sen. Deb O’Neill said on "RN Breakfast with Fran Kelly" that she has documentation from the whistleblower showing customer records — including addresses, credit card details and mobile phone numbers — are stored in New Zealand and backed up in Singapore. Alinta told the program that “customer data is stored in secured data centers in Australia.”
