Earlier this week, smart vacuum maker iRobot found itself in the media spotlight after CEO Colin Angle discussed the company's data-driven plans to monetize the machine's home mapping feature by selling the data, with user consent, to third parties. Some media outlets picked up on the story and pointed out potential privacy concerns. The fallout may have caught the company off guard, as Angle has since provided clarification to his earlier interview.
