Black Penny Consulting
The Compliance Space, developed by Black Penny Consulting's Byron Shirley and Paul Saunders, is an interface that streamlines EU General Data Protection Regulation compliance management. The tool's dashboard carries nine modules covering GDPR topics, including data subject access requests and activities related to data privacy impact assessments. "As a partner of The Compliance Space, a consultancy will be fully trained on the platform, so it can confidently explain the myriad benefits to clients. It also provides access to data that will help inform its clients’ future GDPR strategies," Shirley said.

Jornaya

Jornaya's Guardian compliance solution has added privacy functions to help companies comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as well as future U.S. state and federal privacy legislation. The Privacy Guardian will work to provide companies with user consent verification. "We see this as an opportunity to help the entire ecosystem with a value-add service that aligns with our core mission of helping marketers discover which of their customers and prospects are on a major-life purchase journey," Jornaya Founder and CEO Ross Shanken said.

Mine

Mine, an artificial intelligence—based privacy platform, has launched in the U.K. The startup's aim is to allow users to make more informed choices about the personal data they share with companies by revealing a digital footprint and giving control of the data back to the users by leveraging privacy regulations. "We are entering a decade when people are increasingly concerned with how intrusive everyday apps and platforms have become. Therefore, we decided to invest our efforts into building a solution that will provide consumers with a real choice about who gets to keep their data and how it’s used. We are kick-starting the future of data ownership," Mine Co-Founder and CEO Gal Ringel said.

StrongSalt

StrongSalt's Open Privacy application programming interface allows encrypted data to be searched for and shared in cloud services and enterprise apps. StrongSalt says the API's ability to avoid data risks, specifically data breaches, enables the full adoption of encryption. "StrongSalt is solving the fundamental problem of data privacy by building the world’s first always-on searchable encryption infrastructure through APIs that are simple enough for any developer to use, yet secure enough to power the world’s most demanding applications," the company said in a statement.

Verizon

Verizon's OneSearch is the newest privacy-enhancing search engine for desktop and mobile devices. The search engine does not deploy cookies, retargeting or personal profiling and doesn't share user information with advertisers. Additionally, OneSearch encrypts user searches and does not store search histories.

WireWheel

WireWheel has partnered with Anira Solutions to work in the spaces of data governance and regulatory compliance. WireWheel's automation and Anira compliance solutions will help build out a company's privacy operations without manual processing. "WireWheel and Anira work together to help companies confidently navigate what could easily become an overwhelming challenge," WireWheel Co-Founder and CEO Justin Antonipillai said. "By following a proven process, companies can now stand up data privacy operations quickly and respond to evolving legal requirements efficiently."
