Graduate students at the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Information are developing an open source tool to automate California Consumer Privacy Act data deletion requests, according to Consumer Reports. Through a Gmail account, PrivacyBot would enable individuals to send requests to delete data from a list of data brokers and search sites. Consumer Reports Digital Lab Product Consultant Ginny Fahs said “automating the sending of requests is a big win for consumers.”
