New Zealand Privacy Commissioner John Edwards has yet to hear from Auckland Transport about its plans to install thousands of closed-circuit TV cameras around the city, Radio New Zealand reports. While Auckland Transport has reportedly considered and reviewed privacy related to the cameras, Edwards said his office has not been consulted on any such review. Edwards said in addition to being clued in to the results of the review, his office "would expect the privacy impact assessment and response to also be updated" after any review took place.
