The final report from the 40th International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners has been released. The report runs down both the closed and public sessions from the conference, most of which were centered on the theme of “Debating ethics: Dignity and respect in data driven life.” “We chose ethics therefore as the theme of this year’s conference, because we wanted to interrogate the notions of right and wrong around the world and across different disciplines which underpin law, technology and how people behave,” European Data Protection Supervisor Giovanni Buttarelli wrote.
