The Center for Democracy & Technology has named Alexandra Reeve Givens as president and CEO effective May 11. Givens is the founding executive director of Georgetown Law’s Institute for Technology Law & Policy and previously served as chief counsel for IP and antitrust with the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. CDT’s Board Chairman and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips Partner William Bernstein said Givens is a “champion for equal justice and civil liberties” who will lead “efforts in vigilantly protecting democratic values around the globe in the digital age.”
