It's hard to imagine today what life would be like for working professionals, for much of the world's population, without smartphones. However, Härting Rechtanswälte Partner and University of Economics Law Professor Niko Härting writes for Privacy Perspectives, the European ePrivacy Regulation being debated in the Parliament might make a difference. A study he has prepared for the Centre for Information Policy Leadership purports to demonstrate the flaws of the ePrivacy draft. By relying on consent, he argues, the current ePrivacy Regulation draft runs counter to the General Data Protection Regulation and stands to impact digital innovation in the EU for years to come.
