A bipartisan group of 43 U.S. state attorneys general requested the Federal Trade Commission update the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Rule to include biometric data in the definition of personal information, Bloomberg Law reports. Meanwhile, the Association of National Advertisers claimed the FTC's proposal to require children under age 13 to obtain opt-in consent at least twice from parents was "unnecessary and overly burdensome" in comments to the agency, MediaPost reports.
