Todd Young, R-Ind., and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., plan to introduce legislation to create a legislative framework establishing a licensing regime for deploying "advanced" artificial intelligence models, Politico reports. Meanwhile, Politico also reports a group of bipartisan senators sent a letter to Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., proposing a regulatory framework for AI that would establish federal oversight of the technology to "guard against ... potential catastrophic risks."
