The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill calling for the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Office of Management and Budget to devise guidance on how to properly increase cybersecurity for Internet-of-Things devices. NIST would be expected to produce guides for appropriate use and management of IoT devices owned or controlled by an agency and those connected to an agency's information systems. OMB would be responsible for the implementation of policies, principles, standards or guidelines.
