Recode reports a high-level Uber executive, Eric Alexander, has been fired for illicitly obtaining the personal medical records of a woman who had been raped by an Uber driver in India. Perkins Coie and Covington & Burling have been conducting investigations into "widespread mismanagement issues" and "allegations of pervasive sexism and sexual harassment" at Uber, the report states, and at least 20 employees have been fired. "Alexander had not been among those fired, Uber said ... when asked about his status. Now, after Recode contacted the company about his actions, he is no longer employed there," the report notes.
