The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear three cases on searches of electronic devices at the U.S. border, Reuters reports. One of the cases, filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and Electronic Frontier Foundation, argued search warrants should be required for border agents to search smartphones and laptops at ports of entry. EFF said in a Tweet it filed the case "to put a stop to this egregious privacy violation" and "the fight continues to defend digital privacy at the U.S. border.”
