Marc Groman, CIPP/US, formerly the senior privacy adviser for the Obama administration, and David Reitman, an adolescent medical doctor, have launched “Their Own Devices,” a podcast to discuss the challenges of raising children in the digital age. In their introduction, the pair points out that “95 percent of American teens own or have access to a device that connects them to the entire world,” adding, “it’s a new world for our children, and it’s a new world for us as parents.” Touted as “a podcast with practical parenting advice for the digital age,” the first episode debuted Nov. 15 and looks at the pros and cons of smartphone apps for children.
