The Swiss National Council seeks to revise the Swiss Data Protection Act but will likely need to take care of another rule first, Telecompaper reports. The council will take on adjusting the Schengen Agreement, as it deals with the EU Directive 2016/680 on protections involving processing personal data in criminal law. Taking on the Schengen Agreement will delay revisions to the Data Protection Act. Switzerland will need to make alterations soon as it risks losing its adequacy standing under the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
