White House Senior Director for Cybersecurity Ari Schwartz has stepped down, The Hill reports. Schwartz has served the Obama administration since 2013 but “had long planned to leave after a couple of years on the job,” the report states. “Prior to serving in the government, Schwartz made a name for himself as a leading privacy advocate in Washington, DC,” the report continues, highlighting his tenure as vice president and chief operating officer of the Center for Democracy and Technology, his work with the National Security Council and his time spent as an Internet policy adviser at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
