In this week's global legislative roundup, the House Appropriations Committee passed a version of the Washington Privacy Act recently amended by lawmakers to include a limited private right of action. The Cabinet of Japan issued an order to enforce the amended Act on Protection of Personal Information and the Enforcement Rules for the amended APPI. Microsoft Vice President for European Government Affairs Casper Klynge said the technology company wants Ireland to have a "bigger voice" in influencing European tech regulation.
