In this week's global legislative roundup, the Council of the European Union approved the Data Governance Act. The U.K. government announced its intentions to reform the country's data protection regime. In the U.S., Connecticut became the fifth state to enact a comprehensive privacy law. The U.S. Senate confirmed Georgetown University law professor Alvaro Bedoya as the fifth and final commissioner on the Federal Trade Commission. And, the FTC will vote on a policy statement announcing prioritization of Children's Online Privacy Protection Act enforcement related to education technology.
