An NBC News report explored how startups are trying to seize business opportunities provided by the growth and demand in the privacy space. The report referenced the 259 companies found in the IAPP's "Privacy Tech Vendor Report" and explains that number is likely to keep growing. Californians for Consumer Privacy Founder Alastair Mactaggart said, "We’ve just created a privacy industry," while IAPP Research Director Caitlin Fennessy, CIPP/US, added the growth in the number of privacy companies "looks like a hockey stick these days." Editor's note: The IAPP is accepting submissions until Feb. 27 for the next version of the "Privacy Tech Vendor Report" expected to be released this spring.
