The New Economics Foundation and UCL European Institute published a report titled “The Cost of Data Inadequacy: The Economic Impacts of the UK Failing to Secure an EU Data Adequacy Decision.” The report outlines the economic cost and implications of the U.K. not receiving an adequacy decision from the EU following the end of the Brexit transition Dec. 31, which it says could be “complex,” and offers recommendations to mitigate uncertainties, including on data protection.
