A Royal Canadian Mounted Police senior civilian employee has been charged with multiple violations of the Security of Information Act and the Criminal Code after it was discovered he planned to share government information, the Vancouver Sun reports. Cameron Ortis has been accused of sharing special operations information “intentionally or without authority” and possessing a device to conceal the data he planned to distribute. “The allegations are he obtained, stored and processed sensitive information, the Crown believes, with the intent to communicate that information to people he shouldn’t be communicating to,” Federal Crown Prosecutor John MacFarlane said.
