Two New York residents have filed suit against ad-tech company Turn, arguing that they should be allowed to proceed with allegations that the company’s tracking technology violated their privacy, MediaPost reports. The plaintiffs argue, “The point is not, as Turn repeatedly argues, that Turn delivered advertisements to Plaintiffs,” continuing, “The point is that Turn secretly thwarted mobile users’ privacy safeguards, including affirmative efforts to delete past browsing history and cookies.” Previously, Turn settled charges with the Federal Trade Commission related to its tracking technology and recently argued that its tracking practices were considered too “mundane” for a federal suit.
