The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have been hit with another breach lawsuit, Top Class Actions reports. Social Security Administration Judge Teresa J. McGarry, who alleges her personal information was among that compromised in the OPM breaches, filed the class-action “on behalf of current, former and prospective employees and contractors of the U.S. government.” Keypoint Government Solutions, the contractor in charge of background checks at the time the OPM hack occurred in 2014, is also named as a defendant in the suit, the report states, noting, McGarry “included DHS in the class-action lawsuit because its own multibillion-dollar cyber traffic monitoring system, called EINSTEIN, failed to protect OPM’s system from the hackers."
