Privacy Commissioner of Canada Philippe Dufresne submitted recommendations on including privacy considerations in potential reforms to Canada's Competition Act. In a letter to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, Dufresne said enhanced cooperation is needed between privacy and competition agencies, as well as stronger laws "to provide the protection that Canadians expect of their government and establish connections conducive to consumer trust and an innovative marketplace."
