In an op-ed for Forbes, Irina Raicu, CIPP/US, director of the Internet Ethics Program at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University, explains why the deployment of employee tracking tools should be stopped. Privacy concerns are the crux of the argument for Raicu, who said tracking tools "would create a surveillance work culture that is likely to cause significant harm" while their safeguards "don’t eliminate the harm inherent in the compilation of new databases of highly sensitive information collected without real consent."
