The European Commission on Wednesday published its regulation on artificial intelligence, which Hogan Lovells Senior Associate Dan Whitehead views as "bold and comprehensive proposals" with stiff penalty schemes and prohibitions governing high-risk AI systems. The impacts will range across the board, but Whitehead believes the new rules will be "of real consequence to the privacy profession particularly."
