The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology published a report summarizing its key takeaways from its workshop on household Internet of Things devices. The virtual workshop offered an overview of NIST’s Cybersecurity for IoT Program with panels considering and debating the many considerations impacting the privacy and security measures associated with IoT products. The report indicated one point to consider is "privacy plays a role in the manufacture and consumption of home IoT devices but is not well understood by consumers."
