Municipal workers in India are demanding local governments stop using GPS watches to surveil employees, Reuters reports. The watches provide officials data to monitor employee efficiency. Employees and technology experts have raised concerns over privacy and potential data misuse. IT for Change Deputy Director Nandini Chami said the trackers “seem like an over-reach” while a municipal official said government employees have no expectation of privacy when at work.
