Produce company Dole announced employee data was stolen in a ransomware attack in February, InfoSecurity Magazine reports. The Ireland-based company has approximately 38,000 employees working in 30 countries. Citing U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings, Dole claimed, "we were the victim of a sophisticated ransomware attack involving unauthorized access to employee information." Dole did not report how many employees were impacted in the attack, but the costs associated with the attack could increase if the hackers successfully “exfiltrate” the employee data.
