An annual study of the data protection officer profession in France found DPOs are more diversified and growing in importance, but insufficiently trained. The study, conducted by the Ministry of Labor with the support of France’s data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, found one-third have not taken any information technology or EU General Data Protection Regulation training since 2016. The CNIL said it will study the insufficient training further.
