Microsoft has announced it will honor core California Consumer Privacy Act rights to all U.S. customers. "We are optimistic that the California Consumer Privacy Act — and the commitment we are making to extend its core rights more broadly — will help serve as a catalyst for even more comprehensive privacy legislation in the U.S.," Microsoft Corporate Vice President for Global Privacy and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Privacy Officer Julie Brill wrote in a blog post. Individuals can learn more about their rights to control their personal information on the company's privacy dashboard. Brill added Microsoft is "calling upon policymakers in other states and in Congress to build upon the progress made by California."
