The Financial Times reports a journalist filed a collective action against Marriott International to the High Court of Justice in London over damages from the hotel chain's 2018 data breach. All 7 million U.K. customers affected by the breach are looped into the filing by Martin Bryant unless they opt out. Speaking about the lawsuit, Bryant said, "We don’t always realize the risks we are exposed to when our data is compromised through no fault of our own."
