British location data firm Huq announced it experienced two "technical breaches" where third party applications did not obtain user consent before collecting location data, BBC News reports. Huq Chief Executive Conrad Poulson said, "Huq data is used anonymously. ... We strive to ensure consent is explicitly sought by all our app partners." Both apps revised their consent collection system and updated the app at the request of Huq.
