The Director of the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia issued a 7,000 euro fine against an online retailer 26 Aug. for violations of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, according to the European Data Protection Board. The online retailer was penalized for allegedly failing to fulfill a data subject access request. The data protection authority found a customer repeatedly asked the company to delete his personal data; however, the company never honored the request. The DPA decided to fine the company based on the infraction and the lack of cooperation it demonstrated with the agency.
