A federal judge denied Yahoo’s privacy data breach settlement, citing the company’s refusal to disclose the settlement amount was insufficient, Courthouse News Service reports. In a 24-page ruling, Judge Lucy Koh wrote, “As a result of the lack of specific increases in budget or number of employees and the vague commitments as to changed business practices, the court cannot adequately consider the benefits offered to the class in settlement.” Parties will now be required to consider new terms for settlement.
