The Information Technology Industry Council has released its “Framework to Advance Interoperable Rules (FAIR) on Privacy.” The framework offers recommendations to give data subjects more control and a stronger understanding of the ways their information is used. Measures are also included to ensure companies focus on responsible data use and transparency. “This framework moves us toward that goal by enhancing transparency, increasing individual control, establishing company accountability, promoting security, and fostering innovation. We expect this framework will continue to take shape as we work alongside lawmakers and consumers to develop meaningful privacy legislation in the United States and across the world,” ITI President and CEO Dean Garfield said.
