The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office announced it has launched a public consultation on a draft direct marketing code of practice. The draft code would help organizations ensure their direct marketing activities are in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. The draft will offer a definition of direct marketing to help organizations determine whether the code applies to them. It will also cover areas such as data collection, planning marketing and individuals rights. The consultation will be open until March 4.
