The Information Commissioner’s Office fined the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea 120,000 GBP for identifying 943 people who owned vacant properties in the borough. Owners were identified, and the addresses of vacant homes were provided to three journalists who, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, had requested statistical information.
