The IAPP announced the launch of the Annual Westin Scholar Awards as part of the organization's 20th anniversary. Participating organizations can nominate a student who is considering a career in privacy and data protection. Winners of the award will receive a $1,000 cash prize, a two-year membership with the IAPP and three complimentary IAPP certification exams. IAPP President and CEO J. Trevor Hughes, CIPP, spoke with IAPP Chairman Justin Weiss, CIPP/A, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, and first IAPP Chairwoman Agnes Bundy Scanlan, CIPP/US, about the award and the evolution of the profession.
