Data privacy lawyer Adavize Alao, CIPM, died last week after an illness. Alao was the co-founder and publisher of Lawyard, an online legal media platform that has been a resource for the legal community in Nigeria. Alao, who specialized in data protection, digital rights and tech law, was also an IAPP KnowledgeNet chair in his country. "Adavize was a shining star who shone with excellence in all that he did," Lawyard wrote in a statement. "In the last four years, he worked with an unflinching commitment to the Lawyard dream of leveraging technology to provide solutions to resource challenges within the legal community and bridging the knowledge gap in the larger society."
