U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., voiced his support for a federal privacy law, Politico reports. Carter said privacy legislation could ease concerns and build public confidence in artificial intelligence. “People are naturally and rightfully concerned,” Carter said during a Politico Live event on ethics and AI. “In order for it to succeed, we’ve got to have a buy-in if you will by the general public. We need them to have confidence in that.”
