The data protection authorities for a pair of German states announced they plan to conduct random audits to check compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Global Compliance News reports. The DPA for Lower Saxony sent out a questionnaire earlier this year that focused on companies’ preparation for the GDPR. Based on the results it has received, the Lower Saxony DPA may carry out additional on-site audits and plans to release the results of the investigations in May 2019. The DPA for Bavaria announced it seeks to perform internal audit activities for several companies within the state throughout the rest of the year.
