The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights conducted a survey to gauge awareness of the General Data Protection Regulation and respondents' views on sharing data. The survey found 41% does not want to share their data with private companies and only 5% wants to share their biometric information with private companies. Of the 35,000 respondents, 69% said they knew about the GDPR and 51% understood they could access their personal data held by companies.
