On an episode of "Recode Decode," Kara Swisher speaks with Nicole Wong, former U.S. deputy chief technology officer, about Wong's career path, lessons learned, and where she feels the internet is heading. Wong said, “The most important lesson and the one that I continue to try and work on is, I think that we have not done a good job of filling the ranks in government and in the public sector with technologically capable, savvy people.” Wong reflected on her time in the White House, when users were in the millions not billions, and asks if now is the time to re-examine the internet, raising the question, “What if now everything that we’ve learned in the last two years, we say, ‘That’s not the internet we want to live with’?”
