A former manager for the Northwest Territories government claims he has received a cease-and-desist request from his former employer over a website he created regarding a data breach, CBC News reports. Former Justice Department Securities Division Manager Donn MacDougall created a website where he alleged data about government employees was sent to his personal email address. MacDougall also states he had access to the government’s PeopleSoft human resource software for nine months after he resigned in 2014. "The information contained on the site was personal information of [territorial government] employees and did not have consent to be released under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act," Justice Department Spokesperson Sue Glowach said.

    The order was only an interim order, and was discontinued when the Government of the Northwest Territories filed a discontinuance. The full story can be found at nwtassembly.ca
