The FBI has arrested former KCG Holdings IT employee Zhengquan Zhang for installing malware on his employer's network and stealing proprietary source code, BleepingComputer reports. In an email confessing his actions to a supervisor, Zhang said he was spurred by fear for his job after hearing acquisition rumors, which proved to be true. "He started hacking other employees looking for more information on the company's plans," the report continues. However, Zhang didn't explain why he stole the company's source code. The Department of Justice charged Zhang with theft of trade secrets, which could result in a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison or fines up to $250,000.
