Facial recognition technology is expanding across U.S. airports with the goal of making it easier for travelers to go through the Transportation Security Administration screening, The New York Times reports. Facial recognition tech is used at more than 30 U.S. airports and matches a picture taken at the airport "to a physical scan of a license or passport. The photo is deleted shortly afterward, according to the agency." However, some are raising privacy and ethics concerns around the tech's use.
