Reuters reports Facebook had its $650 million settlement for alleged Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act violations approved by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The approval comes after Judge James Donato suggested Facebook increase the value of settlement from $550 million to compensate the class-action suit members more appropriately. Final approval will be decided at a hearing Jan. 7, 2021.
