U.S. District Court Judge James Donato questioned whether Facebook's $550 million settlement over Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act violations should be increased, NPR reports. Donato reportedly asked in a June 4 hearing whether the payout was "enough" and noted that class members "are taking what is effectively a 98.75 percent discount off of the amount that the Illinois legislature said might be due." Meanwhile, LinkedIn filed papers with the U.S. Supreme Court to have its data-scraping lawsuit against hiQ Labs heard.
